Threw an absolute gem against the Pirates and although I realize it's only Pittsburgh, his stuff looked as electric as ever. If he stays healthy he's a top 5 MLB pitcher.

For the first time ever, I'm in a league (with 8 teams). I saw him on the list of available pitchers and picked him up last night (dumped Aaron Harang).

Sure wish I held onto Harang, at least for todays start (Complete game 3 hit shutout with 9 K's and no walks). At least I parlayed Reds and Under. I'm carrying 9 pitchers right now and didn't want to take the chance that Carpenter would last until Sunday evening. Another pitcher needed to go. The only other reasonable options were to drop either Verlander or Joba. I wanted to stick with Verlander, who could've gotten a win Saturday had the defense not commited 2 errors in the 5th. Joba was facing the light hitting Royals in K.C., while Harang pitched in hitter friendly Cincy. Joba should've had the win today. They were 1 out (with no one on) from getting the ball to Rivera for the 9th.

Carpenter is back on the DL. He pitched 3 innings last night before getting hurt (swinging the bat). I got to stash him on the DL for now and activate Ichiro in his place.

This guy just can't stay healthy. Not only did he screw over some of my fantasy teams, he screwed over my biggest bet of the season in MLB this year. Grr.

At least he didn't hurt his arm. I was able to stash him on the DL, which was convenient since Ichiro was coming off (he had a pretty good first game) and I didn't have to dump anyone.

I also had decent wagers on both the Cards and Under in that game. Even with the injury they both had a chance with 2 outs in the bottom of the 8th (was 4 to 3 Cards with nobody on). I also picked up Ryan Franklin the day before. He got the save today, but he would've been in there if they could've got that last out in the 8th.

Chris Carpenter is being activated in the next day or two and will make a start against the Cubs Tuesday (or Wed).

I had him stashed on the DL. To activate him, someone had to go. Since a DL spot was going to open up, I got rid of John Lester and picked up Brandon Webb. I then activated Carpenter while moving Webb to the DL. Webb is expected to return to action in a few weeks.
